SUPERVISION
Supervision allows us to have a place to take our concerns, such as having difficulty with the focus of where the work is going with a client or group, revealing a blind spot we may not have noticed or any confidentiality issue. Supervision is a professional requirement for most registering bodies these days and is becoming ever more important. It is essential for the well being of the therapist or counsellor not to work in isolation and be accountable to their member organisation or registering body. With statutory regulation on the horizon for those working with people, it is better to make this move sooner rather than wait until it becomes compulsory.
Sessions can be arranged both for the individual and in a group setting. The frequency would depend entirely on what was appropriate for the person/s concerned and whether it was individual or group work. A contract of confidentiality would apply in all cases.
Susan is a Spectrum recognised supervisor and has many years experience in both her own practice and in supervising others in past fields of her expertise and interest.
She gives supervision to those who are training as counsellors, psychotherapists and coaches, are setting up or new to practicing and those who have an established practice already. She also offers supervision to practitioners in the complimentary therapies field and work counsellors and coaches.

The fee per individual supervision session is currently £55 and lasts for an hour. Group sessions are charged on a termly basis and have three to four sessions per term, lasting two hours at the equivalent of £37 per session. Payment is due at each individual session or on the first meeting of every term in full. For supervision of work counsellors/coaches within a company or organisation, the fee will be negotiated and agreed at the time of booking the service. Fees will depend on number and duration of sessions and number of supervisees.
